The Rise And Fall of The European Union

Something is rotten in the state of Brussels.

The European Union, conceived in opposition to continental war and ideological totalitarianism by broad-minded and internationalist pacifists, is now consumed with anti-Russian hatred and misplaced self-righteousness.

The EU's great error has been mistaking Russia for an enemy when the greatest threat to its existence comes from the devils in Washington and Jerusalem.

It's one thing to support aggressive war in distant regions like Afghanistan and Iraq. The geopolitical consequences of those crimes can be ignored for the most part. But to sign off on the wars against Libya and Ukraine was absolute foolishness. And Europe has paid the price, demographically and economically.

Overthrowing leaders and supporting the forces of chaos and extremism so near one's borders never works out for the aggressive party. Ask Pakistan and Saudi Arabia how well their interventionist policies in Afghanistan and Yemen are going for them. The Houthis and the Taliban grow stronger every time foreign troops and spies step on their lands.

The EU's leaders may truly believe Ukraine will win the war against Russia or at least bog it down indefinitely. But facts on the ground say otherwise. Ukraine has lost militarily. It needs to concede defeat, and accept Russian terms while they are still generous.

Don't let Ukraine be the rock on which the European Union breaks.
