America Has No Diplomats With Which To Pressure Egypt

A man who poses with terrorists and arms them is not a diplomat; He is a 1) terrorist, 2) cheat, 3) bully, 4) fraud, 5) piece of shit.

Below is an excerpt from, "How American Hopes for a Deal in Egypt Were Undercut" [The New York Times, August 17]:
The Americans heightened the pressure. Two senators visiting Cairo, John McCain of Arizona and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, met with Gen. Abdul-Fattah el-Sisi, the officer who ousted Mr. Morsi and appointed the new government, and the interim prime minister, Hazem el-Beblawi, and pushed for the release of the two prisoners. But the Egyptians brushed them off.

“You could tell people were itching for a fight,” Mr. Graham recalled in an interview. “The prime minister was a disaster. He kept preaching to me, ‘You can’t negotiate with these people, they’ve got to get out of the streets and respect the rule of law.’ I said: ‘Mr. Prime Minister, it’s pretty hard for you to lecture anyone on the rule of law. How many votes did you get? Oh yeah, you didn’t have an election.’ ”

General Sisi, Mr. Graham said, seemed “a little bit intoxicated by power.”
The senators walked out that day, Aug. 6, gloomy and convinced that a violent showdown was looming. But the diplomats still held out hope, believing they had persuaded Egypt’s government at least not to declare the talks a failure.
LOL @ the idea that America has "diplomats." America doesn't practice diplomacy, it arms Jihadist terrorists and bombs nations willy-nilly. American diplomats are criminal gun dealers.

Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham are the exact opposite of diplomats. By sending them to Egypt during this crisis President Obama was slapping the faces of Egyptians. McCain and Graham were in Syria earlier in the year arming al-Qaeda, so for them to show up in Cairo and preach democracy, rule of law, etc., is a total joke.

McCain and Graham should have stayed in Washington where Jihadist terrorists are treated with greater respect and dignity than they are in Egypt. In Egypt, al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood are considered enemies of civilization and humanity, not respectable negotiating partners and expendable pawns in cynical geopolitical games as they are in God-forsaken Washington.
