Former soldier & journalist Scott Taylor's presentation on Canada and Afghanistan

Scott Taylor, a former Canadian soldier, an award winning journalist, author, and publisher of Esprit de Corps, a Canadian military magazine, gave an excellent presentation on Afghanistan in Ottawa on October 7, 2010 called "Afghanistan: Which way forward?" Members of the Canadian parliament, and their staff were present at the event.

The presentation is 20 minutes, and it is a must-watch. Taylor offers a lot of key information about the state of Afghanistan and the nature of the conflict that is rarely brought up in the major media, if at all.

Taylor knows what he is talking about. He is a trusted and authentic voice. His remarks about Afghan warlords, and political reformers are very insightful. And he strongly criticizes the current U.S.-NATO policy, saying that it is based on short-term thinking and hasn't produced good results for the Afghan people. I recommend you watch his presentation.

An excerpt of Scott Taylor's bio from Esprit de Corps:
After exposing a number of top-level cover-ups and scandals while defending the rights of the rank and file soldiers, Scott was dubbed the “Voice of the Grunts” by the Globe and Mail, a “Bone in the Brass’ Throats” by the Toronto Star, and a “One Man Army” by the Toronto Sun.
A key quote from the video:
"It's not about good guys and bad guys. That's just overly simplistic. People say "We need to maintain the mission" - What mission? What does victory look like? If victory means propping up Hamid Karzai's regime for another ten years - that's not victory at all." (16:33 - 16:45)
