Towards The End of NATO: Why Russia And Spain Must Shape A New Alliance For European Security

"The Strait of Gibraltar has historically been the Western world’s iron gate, a fourteen-kilometer choke point where the rules of the international order were enforced by the sheer weight of NATO’s southern flank. For decades, the assumption was that this gate was manned by Madrid. That assumption died this winter. While the Spanish government has spent the last year expending its diplomatic capital on performative anti-Israel posturing, the waters off its southern coast have quietly transformed into a permissive superhighway for the Russian war machine.

The warning signs have been blinking red for months, but the events of this past New Year’s weekend confirmed the collapse of deterrence. Between December 30 and January 1, a “swarm” of Russian vessels surged through the Strait in a travel pattern that experts have described as highly unusual. This was not innocent commerce. Among the convoy was the MV Lady Mariia, an arms carrier sanctioned by the US Office of Foreign Assets Control, and the MV Pluton, a tanker blacklisted for funding the Kremlin’s war in Ukraine. These vessels, integral to Moscow’s shadow economy and logistics network, navigated the most strategic waterway in Europe with impunity.

This surge is not merely a failure of policing; it is a symptom of a NATO ally that has lost its strategic compass. Under Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, Madrid has effectively abdicated its role as the guardian of the Strait. Naval historians and local observers have noted a disturbing trend: Spain is “silently yielding control” of the Strait’s southern bank, content to monitor only the northern shore and the Atlantic exit. This retreat has created a maritime void in the southern sector, a lawless corridor where the Russian shadow fleet now operates free from the prying eyes of European inspectors.

The reasons for this abdication are as political as they are operational. The Sánchez government has prioritized ideological crusades over hard security, focusing its foreign policy energy on delegitimizing Israel’s war against Hamas rather than securing its own backyard. It is a bitter irony that while Madrid was busy canceling ammunition contracts with Jerusalem and calling for sports boycotts against the Jewish state, it was allowing sanctioned Russian arms carriers to transit its sovereign waters unmolested. The obsession with the Levant has blinded Spain to the fire rising at its own doorstep." - Amine Ayoub, "Spain Sleeps, Russia Swarms: The Gibraltar Void" The Times of Israel, January 6, 2026.

"It is often argued that, owing to its geographical location, Spain does not view the Russian threat with the same intensity as Eastern countries. Its priorities lie in the South and in more diffuse problems that are not strictly military. This would explain why it is so difficult to anchor the debate in matters concerning national defence.

That said, there is also a broad consensus that Spain’s prosperity, stability and security depend on European stability. According to the most recent findings of the Elcano Royal Institute Barometer (BRIE) released in July 2025, three quarters of the interviewees (75%) believe that Europe should continue sending military aid to Ukraine and more than half (52%) are in favour of Spain sending troops to ensure security in Ukraine. This is an extremely high percentage in light of the fact that Spaniards are typically averse to the deployment of military force in any circumstances. The notion that Ukraine represents the first line of resistance against Russian revisionism seems therefore to have taken root in Spanish public opinion. This fact would seem to justify Spain’s commitment to Ukraine and the East. However, when asked which country could pose a threat to Spain the majority of interviewees pinpoint Morocco (55%), easily outranking Russia (33%), which is especially striking bearing in mind the stability of relations with the former and the belligerence of the latter. This traditional fixation on the southern neighbourhood –where the security challenges tend to be perceived in terms of hybrid rather than military threats– tends to limit Spain’s room for political manoeuvre when it comes to prioritising defence." - Luis Simón, "Finding the balance: Russia, the South and the future of Spain’s defence" Elcano Royal Institute, November 26, 2025.

"A Russian cargo ship that suffered a series of mysterious explosions before eventually sinking off the south-east coast of Spain 17 months ago may have been carrying nuclear submarine reactors destined for North Korea, according to reports." - Sam Jones, "Russian ship that sank near Spain may have been carrying nuclear reactors to North Korea" The Guardian, May 12, 2026.

"Great Britain was the main beneficiary; Utrecht marked the point at which it became the primary European commercial power. In Article X, Spain ceded the strategic ports of Gibraltar and Menorca." - Wikipedia.

The U.S.-Israeli sponsored Moroccan invasion of Spanish territory earlier this month did not happen out of the blue.

The Anglo-Americans and Israel wanted to punish Spain for its stance on Palestine and its lukewarm anti-Russia position.

Spain, as a traditional Catholic power, has more in common with Christian Orthodox Russia than the United Kingdom, which is becoming increasingly Islamic and totalitarian. It is jailing priests for fun. It might as well drop the pretenses and declare itself the enemy of all Christendom.

London was always a hotbed for all kinds of political extremism which it exported to Europe and the rest of the world. Socialism, Islamism, Zionism, Transgenderism, Atheism, all these satanic movements began in that rotten capital.

London has always been the main threat to Europe's freedom and security. That was true in 1914. And it is true in 2026.

What happened in Ceuta, Spain must not be seen as an isolated incident or an event that can be dismissed as simply a Spanish-Moroccan problem. That attack is part of a larger Judeo-Islamic-Masonic threat to Europe's security and world peace.

The Anglo-Americans and Israel are waging war on Russia and Spain via Ukraine and Morocco. They're using Ukrainian Nazis and Islamic terrorists to bring down both Europe and Russia.

I have no doubt that the U.S., UK, and Israel transferred their ISIS and Al-Qaeda assets in Morocco's invasion of Spain to use them later on. They will set off bombs in Spain in false flag operations and try to steer Spain fully towards their camp.

Spain must be vigilant and reject this political manipulation. It should get out of NATO, evict the United Kingdom from its territory, and seek a military alliance with Russia.

The Judeo-Masonic terrorists in London, Washington, and Jerusalem must be punished, not rewarded. They've done enough damage in Ukraine, trying to cause World War III with Russia. They must not be allowed to cause similar chaos in Spain and across Europe.

It must always be remembered that these creatures do not consider themselves European and seek to do Europe harm.
