We were lucky Peter Jackson tackled Tolkien. Wokan would have been totally lost in the world of The Lord of the Rings, and would have taken all the colour and charm out of a place like the Shire.
Directors and filmmakers should stick to what they're good at. If you want to be brave and daring in your artistic choices then do so with an original script, not classical literature and ancient myths.
