Books will be written on the Trump phenomenon, but it's not that complicated and it's not that deep.
I think it represents a total failure of democracy. When a presidential candidate can lie during campaign season and do the exact opposite of everything he promised after his election that's not democracy. I don't know what system of government that is, but it's not democracy. And Trump is far from being the only politician guilty of this. But his reversal has been a complete 180.
Plus he's just so sleazy and unstatesmanlike. His filter is gone. I think he was put in power to destroy America's reputation.
I don't think Trump considers himself an American, just as Carney doesn't consider himself a Canadian. These devils and globe trotting pedos have transcended national identities and patriotic feelings. They are very dangerous creatures.
