The Canadian government, like the rest of the West, is throwing good money after bad in Ukraine.
Compromised Canadian politicians don't know how to think for themselves or what's in the best national interests of Canada. Ottawa is still acting like a British colony on the world stage.
Developing strong relations with Russia will help Canada. Plus, Russia is on the winning side in this war. So why not get on its good side?
Also, Russia is an Arctic power who will probably be interested in making lucrative economic deals in the future.
What does Ukraine have to offer?
Nothing.
What side is Canada supporting? The losing side.
What is Ukraine? A trash heap. It is a corrupt backwater, the Pakistan of Eastern Europe whose raison d'etre is to be a thorn in the side of Russia.
When your country's sole purpose is to annoy your most immediate, and more powerful, neighbour, then you quickly become a pariah.
That's Pakistan. That's Ukraine. And if Canada is not careful it will join this losers' list.
