Michel de Montaigne sat in his library writing about the human self and its relation to the world while the world outside was racked by religious civil war. He carefully charted a course for retaining sanity and good sense while surrounded by fanatics who had lost touch with themselves as well as with sanity and good sense.

The lecture will be about some of what Fred Baumann learned over the years from Montaigne and about how his teachings might be of use to us in our own troubled day.

This event is part of Kenyon's 2021 Reunion celebration.
