The U.S. is alienating Assad supporters and PYD supporters, who are the only two groups in Syria that are fighting ISIS on both a political and a military level. The Saudi-Turkish-Qatari-led Sunni opposition is in full agreement with ISIS on social, political, and governance issues. They are representing ISIS in Geneva.
