Below is a statement by Jamal Ahmed al-Tahiri, the spokesman for Al-Qaeda in Damascus (AQD), approving the new construction of a Soviet-esque wall by the Turkish government along its border with Kurdish and Arab towns in northern Syria.

In the Name of Allah the Merciful, America the Accursed, Aslam O' Alikum,

We are glad and thankful that the Turkish government is taking extreme measures to crush the regime of Bashar the dog. For a long time we have relied on the heroic efforts of his majesty, American President Barack Husein Obama, as well as our dear and beloved Prince Bandar, but their service to our cause can't equal what Mr. Erdoğan has done. Our Jihad against Assad would be nowhere without Turkey.

Mr. Erdoğan has provided us with training, weapons, shelter, money. His Muslim kindness is unlimited. We thank his government for protecting us. Their new wall will allow us to carry on our Jihad against Syria's religious and ethnic minorities with greater effectiveness.

The next time Mr. Obama talks on the phone with Mr. Erdoğan he should put the bat down, pick up the notebook, and learn from this great Sultan.
