Bloomberg: "UN’s Syria Envoy Kofi Annan Resigns as Fighting Escalates."
It seems the current of history is with the regime in Syria, which is supported by the majority of the Syrian people. The NATO-backed "rebels" are bickering with each other and starting fights over personality differences.
Now that Annan is gone, what is plan B for Washington and company? Bleed this thing out? Have Israel attack Iran and expand the conflict?
Flynt Leverett and Hillary Mann Leverett write:
"The situation in Syria can only become more dangerous—for Syrians, for others in the region, and for America’s real long-term interests—as the United States persists in supporting the sectarianization of Syria’s internal conflict. And Washington is doing this as part of a broader strategy to play a Sunni “card” against the Islamic Republic and its allies."
