Do Not Blame The Men Who Kill. Blame The Institutions That Lie.
The U.S. military is one of the most corrupt, soulless, and demonic institutions on the face of the Earth. "In all US war theaters," writes Stephen Lendman, "troops commit unspeakable atrocities. Trained to dehumanize enemies, their mission involves killing, destruction, and much more."
The most recent massacre in Afghanistan by the U.S. military was committed after dark on Sunday, March 11. On that night, 17 innocent human beings were sent to the afterlife like dogs by U.S. soldiers. Quickly after the event, military and political leaders scapegoated Staff Sgt. Robert Bales, turning him into a lone madman, a popular archetype in U.S. mainstream political consciousness.
But the story hasn't stuck. The emergence of new evidence has raised doubts about the official story.
On Thursday, March 29, MSNBC published an article called, "Child witnesses to Afghan massacre say Robert Bales was not alone," based on the investigative reporting done by Australian journalist Yalda Hakim. The picture that Afghan witnesses paint of the tragic incident is completely different from the official fairy tale given by the U.S. military and reaffirmed by the White House.
The witnesses say there were numerous soldiers who were patrolling at night and shooting at unarmed women and children in their home, not one. And their version is more believable than the military's version.
The Pentagon and White House have covered up the facts of this massacre. Blood is on their hands. They have disgraced America, and destroyed international law. The citizens of Afghanistan are stuck in a position in which their security is being threatened by warlords from all sides, and members of the U.S. military are the biggest and meanest warlords around.
Professor James Petras wrote on Monday, March 26, in his article, "The Massacre of the Afghan 17 and the Obama Cover-Up":
"Obama has to conspire with the Pentagon in covering up this mass murder, defending the officers in charge of these ‘pacified’ villages, because there are no alternatives, no back-ups, no new recruits eager to engage in the 12th year of war in Afghanistan. There are only the re-cycled killers, willing to pursue their career in ‘Special Forces’ involving ‘kill and destroy’ operations. Furthermore, Obama cannot rely on the international allies who are rushing to withdraw their own troops from this quagmire. And Obama has a problem with his allied Afghan warlords and kleptocrats, who managed to run off with over $4.5 billion dollars in 2011 (half of the entire state budget) (Financial Times, 3/19/12, p. 1). President Obama cannot allow an entire garrison, including their commanding officer to be put on trial for the war crimes in this massacre."We must put this tragedy in perspective, and not blame individual members of the U.S. military, who are innocent in my book. They didn't wake up one morning and decide it would be fun to go into a village on the other side of the world and kill a bunch of innocent women and children. They were leading normal lives, and then 9/11 happened, and God and Country called.
But God and Country didn't call. America was mortally wounded on December 23, 1913, and then killed on November 22, 1963. And America abandoned God a long time ago. It was Satan and the Corporation that called on September 11, 2001, and they don't care what happens to American soldiers, the American nation, the Afghan people, or the Middle East.
Seymour Hersh described the mental condition of American soldiers who are deployed in Afghanistan in a recent talk at the University of Texas, saying:
"You have a bunch of American boys going around the world, assigned to Afghanistan – check me if this sounds familiar – they don't know what the enemy looks like, they don't see the enemy, they don't understand the culture of the enemy, they never see anyone in a uniform, they never see a regular force, and they're exposed constantly to mines that are going to blow off their damn dick and balls. And that's the biggest concern they have: Every step, they don't know if that's going to be the end of their manhood." (Source: The Austin Chronicle/Michael King, March 30, 2012.)Nobody can relate to American and NATO soldiers in an occupied country. These soldiers live in an environment in which no honest soldier can survive in. You have to be mean and ruthless to survive. America is not fighting a war in Afghanistan, where you can feel good about killing the enemy because the enemy stinks. There is no enemy in Afghanistan. The enemy only exists in the heads of American soldiers because America's corrupt political leaders placed the image of the enemy in their heads.
Afghanistan is nothing more than a mass-killing operation. And massacres by groups of soldiers are perfectly natural in that environment. In fact, it is demanded of them. It is their job to kill Afghans. And not just the warriors of the land, but innocent, unarmed people. Revenge attacks are carried out regularly. Sgt. Bales is not a war criminal, he is a savage who was let loose in the wild by his owners. The real war criminals are in Washington, London, and Tel Aviv who started the evil war on terror on 9/11.
The idea that this latest massacre is outside the norm in Afghanistan is a big lie. Killing innocent civilians is what empires do. This is what a war of occupation looks like. We must remember this and keep it in mind at all times: The state atrocity of March 11, 2012, by the U.S. state was only possible because of the state atrocity of September 11, 2001, by the U.S. and Israeli states.
One massacre of innocent individuals in America directly led to another massacre of innocent individuals in Afghanistan. This chain of events cannot be broken by cutting off reality from this world. It is a historical truth that 9/11 was an inside job, not a goddamn conspiracy theory.
Massacres and cover-ups are done by every military establishment and every conqueror. Hilter's army murdered, tortured, and mutilated corpses. So did Genghis Khan's army. And every other army from hell.
In the U.S. military establishment, massacres and cover-ups are an honored tradition. Remember the Pat Tillman cover-up. Remember the cover-ups in Vietnam and Laos. Remember the 9/11 cover-up. Massacres and cover-ups are the lifeblood of the U.S. military. That is just a fact.
Are there good men in the U.S. military? Of course. Tons of them. American soldiers are the nicest soldiers of any empire in history, many of them have hearts of gold and eyes of angels, but at the end of the day, they are working in hell's army. It is not America's army. It is hell's army.
Hell's army has a way of seducing the good and the noble. The men who are brainwashed into fighting in hell's army are some of the most patriotic, good, and honourable men in society. But that doesn't matter. Hell's army is all about good men being duped to carry out evil. Not all Nazi soldiers were barbarians and savages. A lot of them were nice guys, just like American soldiers. But they were in hell's army.
Hell's army is not identifiable by uniform or by country. In one era, hell's army hides behind a German uniform. In another era, it puts on an American uniform.
Hell's army is the army of power, ruthlessness, and absolute domination. It is the army of terror, criminality, and mass murder on an industrial scale. It is the army of monsters, savages, and barbarians. It is the army that all good men and brave warriors fight against because to combat evil is their calling in life.
