Iranian Students Take Over The British Embassy In Tehran, Chant "Death To England"

Did Khamenei send "protesters" as a retaliation against the British government for imposing newer and stiffer economic sanctions on Iran? The Islamic Republic of Iran has a history of staging dramatic events that grab international attention and using mobs as a tool of propaganda warfare.

The 1979 hostage crisis was planned by Khomeini and his closest advisers, who were in contact with the Bush-led CIA from the very beginning of the whole operation. In fact, the Bush-led CIA signed off on it and made it happen.

The crisis helped Bush and Reagan get in power by making Carter look weak on national security, and allowed Khomeini to consolidate control in Iran by gaining greater popular legitimacy as the "tough as nails anti-imperialist revolutionary." Read more about it here.
