Osama Bin Laden was a man with nine lives. He was an anti-Soviet "freedom fighter" on the CIA's payroll in the 1980s but then magically turned into an anti-American "Islamist" just as the myth about the "clash of civilizations" was making a big mark in academic and political circles.
America's secret military/intelligence/media establishment transformed the billionaire Bin Laden into a global myth, a godhead of terror, a Che for the disenfranchised Muslim masses of the Muslim world, a "holy warrior" on the quest to save his Muslim brothers and punish the evildoing United States. It is a great myth, it scares the children at night and it serves a higher purpose. And it's a pretty convincing myth too, if you're uninformed and clueless. If you still believe that Bin Laden was capable of pulling off the biggest attack on American soil then you are truly a sucker. You will believe anything that the government says. Your mind has been deformed to the point of non-existence. You have no mind of your own if you accept the 9/11 story as the truth.
It is funny to me that leftist intellectuals who are always on their high horses seriously believe in the myth of Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda along with their "ignorant" and "uneducated" foes on the right. Both sides share a common stupidity and ignorance about 9/11 and the geopolitical reasons for the war on terror. Even someone as bright and morally courageous as Glenn Greenwald, a person I admire, accepts the government's story of 9/11 unquestioningly. In reaction to the announcement of Bin Laden's death, Greenwald wrote:
The 9/11 attack was a heinous and wanton slaughter of thousands of innocent civilians, and it's understandable that people are reacting with glee over the death of the person responsible for it.Greenwald says that it is wrong to cheer the death of a war criminal, and a mass murderer, calling the scenes of celebrations "a collective orgy," as if that is the thing that is wrong with this picture. What is he thinking? Was it wrong to be joyous when Hitler was pronounced dead? Absolutely not. Barbaric murderers deserve to die, and it is good to recognize their passing with celebration. There is nothing morally wrong with cheering the death of a mass murderer, once he is given a fair trial, or there is sufficient evidence which proves that he committed war crimes.
The problem is that Osama Bin Laden was not responsible for the 9/11 attacks, so he is not a certified mass murderer. He is a patsy on a grand scale. He was not a good guy by any means, but bigger forces were responsible for 9/11. And I will celebrate when the real state terrorists who did 9/11 are brought to justice and hanged for their crimes against humanity, and crimes against peace.
According to the FBI's own website, Bin Laden was never charged for 9/11 by the United States government because it lacked the evidence to indict Bin Laden for 9/11. The U.S. government never brought Bin Laden in front of an American jury because it knew it lacked the facts to show that Bin Laden carried out the 9/11 attacks. A shadow history of the last several decades would be revealed in a civilian court if any of these "mastermind" terrorists are actually given their say in front of the world public. So instead, they are killed and disposed of like mid-level crooks.
I hope Greenwald and other journalists get wise to the real situation and realize that the entire war on terrorism is a gigantic and historic fraud. If journalists know 9/11 was an inside job but they're too afraid to admit it in writing then that's fine. I understand cowardice. I'm not one to judge. I just don't like liberals who over-moralize and look down on people who are happy and proud when they believe that someone credited with the greatest act of terrorism in this century is pronounced dead. I have no problem with emotional crowds who cheer the death of a global terrorist, I just wish they knew that the real global terrorists are in the White House, CIA, Pentagon, London, and Israel. The people who are being killed daily in some village in Afghanistan or Pakistan are not terrorists, but victims of a demonic American war machine that has been hijacked by a bunch of anti-American and anti-human scumbags.
It's the mass confusion and mass ignorance that bothers me, not the mass jubilation.
