9/11 Truth: Not A Left or Right Issue

The worldwide grassroots campaign to launch a new international investigation into the events of September 11, 2001, is the least divisive cause in the world. The 9/11 truth movement is not a political movement, nor is it a collection of closed-minded ideologues, but a rational and peaceful response to the irrational and criminal war on terror which is based on complete lies and myths.

9/11 truth is an issue of patriotism, freedom, truth, peace, democracy, and most of all, justice. It should attract the world's attention as the most important issue of our age, but it is marginalized as a movement that is based not on facts but disinformation and paranoia, however, this line of thinking is wrong, and what's more, it is reflective of deep-seated prejudices held by many people.

There were ready-made explanations that clarified the 9/11 events for people across the political spectrum. Conservatives and Republicans bought the official story that Muslim terrorists hated America because of its freedoms. And the popular school of thought that states that 9/11 happened as a result of blowback was embraced by liberals and libertarians alike. Believers of this theory point out frequently that Arab radicals in Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and other countries in the Muslim world had the motive to attack the United States, but motive isn't everything in a crime. The question that should be asked is who had the means? Who was able to shut down America's air defense system at the time of the attacks? Who was able to rig Building 7 with explosives so that it could collapse onto its own footprint without getting hit by a plane? Who was able to confiscate videotapes that recorded the attack on the Pentagon? Who was able to persecute, censor, and delegitimize dissenting views? Clearly, the finger must point towards the Bush administration, and the devilish tricksters who control the United States government.

Such a conclusion should not be earth-shattering. The nature of U.S. foreign policy and America's single-minded pursuit of global hegemony was made evident near the end of World War II when the U.S. government dropped two atom bombs on two Japanese cities. The message was sent to the Soviet Union and the whole world that America doesn't play around. It means business. And it makes no secret of it.

Anybody who stared the facts in the face during the Vietnam era, the Reagan era, and up to the last years of the 20th century knew that the U.S. government was not a democratic state but a terrorist state that built its global status not by the force of democratic persuasion but autocratic force - by military invasions, economic exploitation, and CIA overthrows of democratically elected leaders. The controllers of the U.S. government are not motivated to do good, or to protect the American people, or to defend freedom against the forces of terrorism, but to increase their ill-gotten power, and control.

This shouldn't be surprising to anyone who knows their history. Geopolitics is not a new game. The Bush administration wanted to expand America's influence in a strategic area of the Middle East, and the only way they could justify such a policy to the American people was by deliberately attacking America on 9/11 and blaming it on Arab terrorists with connections to Afghanistan, and that part of the world. Thus, a policy of hegemony was presented as a policy of counter-terrorism to the American and global public. As it turns out, self-inflicted wounds pay dividends for the masters of war, and rulers of nations.

The task of grappling with the true nature of the 9/11 attacks, and its consequences for democracy, justice, peace, and freedom, is one that journalists in the mainstream press, if there are any left, must attend to now rather than later. Time is of the essence. Journalists have wasted too many hours filling pages with government lies and propaganda that have led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people. Denial of the truth is not a coping mechanism, it is a disease. Rationalizing and ridiculing the truth doesn't make it go away. The reality that 9/11 was an inside job must be accepted, or else America will not survive as a nation, and the criminal occupations in the Middle East will continue indefinitely.

Nobel prize-winning author Albert Camus wrote in September 15, 1944 in the French newspaper Combat, when the Nazi war machine was nearing its inevitable collapse, that truth, not lies, equals power. Camus:
What can spirits liberated from hatred as well as weakness learn from the terrifying example of Germany in agony? That in history as in other realms, genius never lies in falsehood but is contained entirely within truth aware of its own power. It took us ten years and millions of dead to recognize this obvious fact. Having paid so dearly for this lesson, at least we won't forget it. (Camus; Camus at Combat: Princeton University Press: pg. 38).
Of course, the world did forget the lesson, ignoring Camus's wise and prophetic reflections.

We live in another age of terror, when another war machine is running amok. But the state terrorists we're up against don't wear the devil's mask, and justifying mass murder of a particular group of people. The terrorists of our age have declared a war on terrorists. But don't expect them to attack themselves anytime soon, because they don't view themselves as terrorists. The state terrorists in Washington see themselves as godly men. It is a lie they tell themselves, but at least it is more true than the lie that people tell themselves - that their leaders are not terrorists, that 9/11 was not an inside job, that the American war machine is not morally, financially, and politically bankrupt.

Chemist, and 9/11 researcher Kevin Ryan writes that "maintaining self-deception about 9/11 is not easy." In his article, "Blowback, managed blowback and self-deception," Ryan says:
We all confabulate and self-deceive and we do so regularly. In fact, some powerful people appear to work to exploit that fact of human nature. Our best chance at avoiding such exploitation is to notice the self-deceptive tendencies in ourselves, and prioritize education in relation to them. With 9/11, we have an opportunity to do just that, by witnessing the most glaring and widespread examples of self-deception in our time. That’s why 9/11 truth has such a powerful potential to effect real change in our society.
In the end, the power of truth will prove once again to be more powerful than government lies, media propaganda, and personal self-deception. The road to redemption, the road to Nuremberg II, has already been paved by researchers and skeptics in the 9/11 truth movement. Nothing should stop us from walking down the center of this golden road.
