I don't watch much television news (except for CNN and CBC on some days), but I'm certain that Anderson Cooper is the best news anchor on television. He is emerging as a far more important voice in the media landscape than Keith Olbermann, and the clowns on Fox News. His reporting on environmental crises like Katrina, the earthquake in Haiti, and the BP Gulf oil spill was outstanding, and his nightly coverage of the current political crisis in Egypt is top-notch television journalism. He deserves praise for his objective reporting and apolitical commentary, and for telling the truth about the Mubarak regime.
But it is one thing to call a foreign leader a liar and another thing to call your own leaders a bunch of liars. I hope that Cooper and the rest of the U.S. media will recognize that the leaders and insiders of the American shadow terrorist state are also cruel liars who are suppressing the American people, keeping them in the dark, denying them critical information about the nature of U.S. foreign policy, and deceiving them along with the world about the events of 9/11 and the real reasons for America's war on terror.
Mubarak's terrorist regime is not the only show in town. The acts of deception, propaganda, and treachery by the manipulators behind America's national security/terrorist state exceeds all the criminality that has gone on in Egypt in the past 30 years under Mubarak's bloody reign.
