Ahmadgeddon

An American-Israeli attack on Iran is almost certain. The two articles below, the first by Flynt and Hillary Man Leverett, and the second by Eli Clifton, document the groups and media channels that are calling for war. The catastrophic course of events that a war with Iran would unleash, both in the Middle East, and globally, are hard to fathom. If both sides go all-out, the destruction that they will cause in the region is indescribable. Armageddon is the only word that comes to mind.

THE RACE FOR IRAN: WHO WILL BE BLAMED FOR A U.S. ATTACK ON IRAN?

By Flynt Leverett and Hillary Mann Leverett

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s visit to the United States last week was capped off today with the broadcast of a previously-taped interview on Fox New Sunday. The interview covered a range of important topics, including the state of the U.S.-Israel relationship and prospects for Israeli-Palestinian peace. Such a scenario would be far more damaging to Israel and the American Jewish community than anything Iran might conceivably do.

Former Bush Administration Official Heads Up Latest Astroturf Group Pushing For Attack on Iran

By Eli Clifton

No sooner did I write about the growth industry in astroturf groups promoting a U.S. or Israeli military attack on Iran than a new one sprung up on CNN. Surprisingly, the partisan connections behind this group are so thinly veiled that a two-minute examination of their domain name registration uncovered ties to the Republican Party and the George W. Bush administration.

The new group, The Emergency Committee for Israel, appears to have made its public debut on July 6th when Campbell Brown—who ironically is married to Dan Senor, who serves on the four-man board of the neoconservative The Foreign Policy Initiative—hosted Noah Pollak, its “executive director,” to discuss Obama’s recent meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the threat allegedly posed by Iran’s nuclear program. A transcript of their discussion can be found here.

The consequences of a war with Iran are unthinkable. Let's ensure that they are not all bad by documenting the crimes and lies of the war criminals, and hold them accountable when the opportunity presents itself.
