How Freedom Shall Be Won

Freedom is nothing else but a chance to be better, whereas enslavement is a certainty of the worst. - Albert Camus

If we imagine society as a pitch-black room, then the men currently in power are only slightly less in the dark about the future than the rest of us, and this is because of their recognition that the future is not seen, but made in advance. If you take a glance around the room, you will see nothing at first, but you can develop a sixth sense and come to know the layout of the room, which is not of any great size but is pretty well crowded. Now, let's say that the many objects spread out across the room represent society's most powerful corporations, religious institutions, state organs, medical and educational bureaucracies, and things of that nature - things that can dictate the movement of the people in the room, and can control their behavior. These forces have the ability to press us against the wall, making us immovable, so that we learn to submit in our own little corner, and become afraid to even move a muscle.

But unknown to the sleeping people in the room, there are more powerful agents, who move in secret, and are engaged in a conspiracy to make themselves the supreme lords once light dawns. But these men are not light-bearers, the light they envision is one of their own making rather than a natural light or a light accessible by a electrical switch in a room. And the light they crave is not fully-lit, but the kind that illuminates just enough of the room for them to take charge with new confidence. These secret criminals powers accomplish their projects in the dark with great discipline but little certainty that they will be accepted if total light is cast onto them, and the people are given full view of the situation.

I should clarify at this point that there are three different types of light that can lit the panic room that we are all locked in. One of them is the sun's light, which is a natural light and represents the evolution of humanity, but the availability of this light is not certain - humanity can get up off its feet, pull back the drapes, and discover that outside the window is just as dark. So waiting in anticipation on this light to come through is a great gamble. Another light is the torch of liberty, and this is manifested by a violent resistance campaign against the financial occupiers of the room. I advise against taking this approach because there is a great danger that the flame will be extinguished by more powerful flame-throwers possessed by the more violent opposition, and also because a torch is meant to be carried across the room and taken care of - something that I doubt will happen for long because human beings are inherently non-violent. The last type of light is attained through a light switch, and in the real world this is expressed by an active, aggressive and a non-violent revolution. The effect of all three is the same as far as bringing to light the devilish plans devised by men behind the conspiracy, and their corrupt and violent nature. All light will terminate these planner's evil efforts to shut down humanity's passion for freedom forever. But the effect of the natural light is more beneficial for humanity's peace of mind because it narrows down the chances that light will once again be sucked out of the room at some future date. However, if light in the room is achieved by electricity and man's own fruition alone, then the cycle of war and conspiracy and fraud could be repeated again in the future if Man is not alert, and he'll most likely won't be. The best possible outcome for humanity is that he evolves and changes by way of the natural light, which is send down by Providence, and because of his own efforts in turning the switch. To sit and stare in the blind hope that a light from God will come through a crack in the window is a bit naive, and cowardly. We must get up and move towards the switch, turn it on, and expose the traitors and enemies of humanity ourselves. Only slaves wait on God. Free beings take the jump start, and advance forward, knowing that God will meet them halfway to continue the work of creating a sustained light together.

But the biggest problem we face is how do we get to the switch in time and awake all the people in the room? Without the turning of the switch, all of us will remain slaves. And while it is true that some of us can see our surrounding more greatly than our neighbors because a light-bulb has gone off in our heads, our immovability puts us at the same disadvantage as the rest. But that does not mean we can't energize our wills. A potential leader could spark change, or possibly an event.

Avenues other than the 'turn of the switch' limits the potential for positive change, so working to bring light is the most beneficial course we can take, and one that is more logical than trying to induce a blind and violent uprising against an enemy who can see more clearly than us at this moment in time. Switching on the light is a peaceful tactic, and also the most efficient because light travels faster than the hand of evil moves, and brings along with it the truth of things, which is the greatest revolutionary force in the world. If the truth will set us free, then it is light that will set the truth free. And it is up to us to set light free.

Only weak powers operate in the dark, obstruct free debate, and withhold sensitive information from the public. Regimes that depend on secrecy at their height reverse to violence in their last days - and the current American power-holders are one such regime. The key to overthrowing them is information, and little else. In modern times revolutions are won not by might but by light, and more light. Raising a gun against the government is like throwing punches in the dark, which risks the lives of everybody in the room except the criminals because they can see slightly more than the rest of us, which means they can direct their movements to their advantage. The smart thing to do in this situation is to turn the light on, and if we do, we'll find the evil doers clinging their desperate hands to the walls to avoid the fists thrown. So rather than suffer bloody noses why not just turn the switch on? The trouble, of course, is that most of us have no idea where the switch is, and if we try palming the walls then we risk our wrists being cut off by the criminal conspirators who see more clearly than we do. Luckily, though, not all of us have lost sight, not all of us are asleep at the switch and blind to who occupies the room.

But even when some of us do find the switch at last, we discover that it's not working, and however much we flip it back and forth, the light above stays turned off because without the electricity of the people in the room, the room can't be lit. Without the people's enlightenment, a free society will only be a shadow of our image. The light may shudder here and there, illuminating the room for an instant, but a sustained brightness is not possible without everybody's political chemistry being in accord with each other. And this is not achievable unless the person who has his hand on the switch begins to realize that intuitiveness and the gift of political instinct is not enough, that it takes courage and strength to shout out to everyone in the room that the switch is under your fingertips. The Hero who does this risks his life because the wall guards who have constant sight of the switch can lean over and strip his hand off, or kill him. But political death in these cases only advances social change, because by then the call has been heard throughout the room, and everybody begins to charge towards the direction of the switch en masse and turn the switch on at once, leaving the criminals behind the switch no place to hide or run.
