These are the times that try men's souls, but what is lacking are men, or to put it more plainly, men with soul. These are the times that lock men's souls without even trying them. I felt guilty going to the theater tonight, and couldn't wait for the movie to finish. Escaping my responsibilities makes me feel sick, and angry. I'm much more cheerful when I'm thinking about the horrors inflicted on our world and those to come, because I cannot enjoy freedom unless every human being in this world has the same opportunity, and until then I must suffer, it's my way of being beside the mass of humanity. Being complicit during wartime makes me feel like shit, and I can not sleep knowing one million people have died in Iraq, an injustice that will never be forgiven, or forgotten.
We are in the descent of our species. For the past century people have been kept ignorant by the larger financial forces moving human societies, just as before religious rulers enslaved the Western mind, until the bible was printed for all to read, and standing in between both the bank and the church is the state, masquerading as the people's ally when it is anything but. At the end of this collapse, the state, the church, and the bank will all undergo institutional annihilation, and I will be there to witness it, if not in my present form then surely in spirit. What is ahead of us is the grandest revolution in human history, so why shouldn't I be excited and make a fuss about my existence? To be a part of it is an honor, and I am personally grateful to God for having been born in 1989, and to my parents for dreaming a better life in a society with more freedom. They did not come to the West only to witness their son grow up in an increasingly tyrannical world. It is true that our rights are rarely violated, but that's because we rarely exercise them. Stand up to the real powers, and your rights will have little value in the eyes of the protectors of the pyramid. In America, walking in front of a government building with a camera in hand makes you an instant suspect. History is changing and people are not being consulted for their opinion, making them nothing more than eaters, drivers, and workers, with no purpose at all. A will-less humanity! These are the times that try man's will. If only Paine was alive today to write a new common sense.
