General Richard Myers: "The goal has never been to get bin Laden"

Read the article written by Matt Kelley on April 6, 2002 called, "No large anti-Taliban operations in Afghanistan looming, Gen. Franks says." It includes an interesting quote by retired General Richard Myers, the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Wikipedia:
General Myers became the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs on October 1, 2001. In this capacity, he served as the principal military advisor to the President, the Secretary of Defense, and the National Security Council during the earliest stages of the War on Terror, including planning and execution of the 2003 invasion of Iraq. On September 30, 2005, he retired and was succeeded by General Peter Pace.
The quote by Myers reads, "The goal has never been to get bin Laden," which was made by Myers on a CNN show called "Novak, Hunt & Shields."

Matt Kelley wrote, "The capture, killing and scattering of midlevel al-Qaida operatives is perhaps more important than the fact that al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden is still at large, said Gen. Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff."

Isn't it interesting that less than a year after the 9/11 attacks happened, the top command in the U.S. military regarded the man, who was supposedly responsible for the tragedy, not as the top catch in America's counter-terrorism efforts, but as somebody to be forgotten and ignored?

The Bush administration held up Osama bin Laden to the American people and the world as the main architect and villain behind the attacks on the World Trade Center. But he wasn't important enough to capture and/or kill. Why?

Why connect a man to an act of murder and an act of war but then refuse to go after him and bring him to justice for his crimes? If "the goal has never been to get bin Laden," as Myers stated, then why is the United States in Afghanistan? What is it doing there besides hunting down the terrorists who killed Americans on 9/11?

And why has the media not questioned Myers' statement about Bin Laden? Isn't it important to know what American soldiers are doing in Afghanistan, if not to capture and kill the terrorists who attacked America on September 11?

It wasn't just Myers who said that Bin Laden wasn't important, and not the main reason for why America is in Afghanistan. Former President Bush, the guy who wanted Osama Bin Laden dead or alive, said in 2006 that Bin Laden is “not a top priority use of American resources." Visit this site to get more background on Bush's quote.

Bush made similar statements at a press conference six months after the 9/11 attacks occurred. "Focusing on one person really indicates to me people don't understand the scope of the mission," Bush said, adding, "Terror is bigger than one person." He also said, "I don't know where he is. I just don't spend that much time on him."

Counter those statements with what Bush said just one day after 9/11. "Those in authority should take appropriate precautions to protect our citizens. But we will not allow this enemy to win the war by changing our way of life or restricting our freedoms," (President Bush said this during a photo appearance with his National Security Team on September 12, 2001. The quote was taken from the website Wikiquote.)

Who was Bush referring to when he said "we will not allow this enemy to win the war"? Who is the enemy, if not Bin Laden? How can anybody supplant Bin Laden as the top enemy when he was accused of committing the 9/11 attacks? If Bush was so interested in stopping terrorism and "protecting" American citizens, then why didn't he go after Bin Laden and stop him from committing crimes in the future? Was Bin Laden even alive six months after 9/11?

It is not out of the question to suggest that Bin Laden died shortly after 9/11, but Bush and his military commanders didn't want to admit this fact to the American people because of the fear that support for American military involvement in Afghanistan would rapidly decrease. What other explanation accounts for Bush's indifference to the whereabouts of Bin Laden?

In December 2001, the Pakistan Observer reported that Bin Laden died in the Tora Bora region due to health problems. From the article:

"The Coalition troops are engaged in a mad search operation but they would never be able to fulfill their cherished goal of getting Usama alive or dead," the source said.

Bin Laden, according to the source, was suffering from a serious lung complication and succumbed to the disease in mid-December, in the vicinity of the Tora Bora mountains. The source claimed that bin Laden was laid to rest honorably in his last abode and his grave was made as per his Wahabi belief.

If Bin Laden isn't dead, then how can he evade Big Brother for nearly a decade? He's not Waldo. He's a tall, bearded Arab who has recognizable features. If the U.S. Military and the U.S. National Security State were really interested in catching Bin Laden and bringing him to justice they would've done it already. But you can't catch a dead man.

The myth that Bin Laden is alive has to prevail in order for the war on terror to continue, and be seen as acceptable by the majority of the American public.

But if the goal is not get to Bin Laden, then what is the U.S. goal in the war on terror? If American soldiers are not being deployed in Afghanistan to get justice for the victims of the 9/11 attacks, then why are they being send into harm's way? If the goal is not justice, then what is it? What else do humans fight wars for, if not to get justice? Oh yeah. Money, territory, and power. But money, territory, and power for whom? The soldiers who are fighting and dying on the front lines, or the scamming financiers, corporate thieves, generals, and politicians who are living wonderful lives back home, far from battle? You know the answer. It's not hard to figure out.

Alex Jones Was On The View Today, And Injected Truth Into Television

Radio host/documentary filmmaker/patriot Alex Jones went on ABC's The View on Monday, February 28, to discuss Charlie Sheen's interview on his show last week.

But the ladies of the View didn't know what hit them as Alex injected a juggernaut of truth into mainstream, pop-culture discourse, while defending Charlie Sheen's recent behavior.

Alex compared George Bush to Muammar Gaddafi (both are war criminals and delusional sociopaths), talked about 9/11 truth and Building 7, reminded the American people about the war crimes in Iraq, and said that the banks on Wall Street committed massive fraud, bankrupted America, and stole trillions of dollars. Well done Alex! Fire away the truth bombs!

The mainstream media, and mainstream shows like the View are getting a wake-up call. People are tired of reading and/or hearing about bullshit celebrity gossip. There is much more important information that these television programs should be covering like Wall Street criminality, war crimes in Iraq, 9/11 truth, etc.

Thank God for Alex injecting sanity, real issues, and knowledge into this otherwise lame and stupid TV show.

Perceptions And Facts About The War On Terror

"Long before quantum mechanics, the German philosopher Husserl said that all perception is gamble. Every type of bigotry, every type of racism, sexism, prejudice, every dogmatic ideology that allows people to kill other people with a clear conscience, every stupid cult, every superstition-ridden religion, every kind of ignorance in the world, are all results from not realizing that our perceptions are gambles. We believe what we see, and then we believe our interpretation of it, but we don't even know we're making an interpretation most of the time.

We think that this is reality. In philosophy that is called Naive Realism. "What I perceive is reality." Philosophers have refuted naive realism every century for the last 25 hundred years starting with Buddha & Plato, and yet most people act on the basis of naive realism." - Robert Anton Wilson. And the video of RAW saying this.
"The world is not governed by facts or logic. It is governed by BS (belief systems)." - Robert Anton Wilson.
"'Seeing' is not a function of the eyes alone, but of the eyes-and-brain working together. A popular proverb says, 'Seeing is believing,' but as the philosopher Santayana once pointed out, humans are much better at believing than at seeing." - Robert Anton Wilson.
American philosopher and author Robert Anton Wilson, who died four years ago at the age of 74, tried to awaken us to the fact that the "world is not governed by facts or logic," but by "belief systems." The priests of power in the United States understand this well, and they have used their knowledge to rule over the ignorant people below them, and keep America in the dark.

The new Rolling Stone article by Michael Hastings about how military commanders in Afghanistan are using professional Psy-Ops teams against senators and congressmen to persuade them to vote for more funding and more troops is a tiny glimpse into the world of perception management, information warfare, and psychological operations. These weapons are wielded against freedom and democracy by the devils and traitors who have hijacked the United States government.

But it is not just renegade army generals who are interested in managing perception in the war on terror. Lt. Gen. William Caldwell's use of disinformation and propaganda techniques against senators and congressmen in Afghanistan is similar to the propaganda and disinformation that is being aimed at the American and Western public on a constant basis by professional perception managers who operate out of the CIA, MI6, Mossad, and other organs of the U.S., British, and Israeli governments.

Perception management is big business. Here is a short definition of the term (from the website www.globalfocus.org):
Perception Management (PM): Actions to convey and/or deny selected information and indicators to foreign audiences to influence their emotions, motives, and objective reasoning as well as to intelligence systems and leaders at all levels to influence official estimates, ultimately resulting in foreign behaviors and official actions favorable to the originator’s objectives. In various ways, perception management combines truth projection, operations security, cover and deception, and psychological operations. (Source: DOD)

Although PM is theoretically limited to foreign audiences, this may be an impractical limitation. False messages can easily bounce back to the domestic audience, or practitioners may ignore the limitation. The term suggests that an attempt is being made to alter or manipulate perception. Police know how difficult it is to interview eyewitnesses without getting distortions.
Free and open societies cannot exist if governments are allowed to get away with targeting their populations with psychological weapons like propaganda and perception management techniques on a regular basis. A society is not free when the people's thoughts and opinions about the most important events that have guided and influenced that society are managed by official propagandists and government luminaries.

Anybody who has critically examined the development of American society in the last sixty years knows that public perception has been managed to suit the anti-democratic ends of a small network of oligarchs, elitist political leaders, and power brokers who control the inner workings of the U.S. shadow state. Their motivations are to destroy America, and put in place a global authoritarian government.

It is a fact that without government deception and media propaganda the Iraq war would've never been supported by the American people in the initial stages of the war. Lies about Al-Qaeda, Islamic terrorism, Iraq and Saddam Hussein were deliberately told by officials in the Bush administration, and then repeated by their loyal dogs in the media. Their aim was to change mass perceptions about the Middle East so that they could sell numerous wars to the American people, and they were successful. One reason why they were so successful is because nobody in the mainstream media or Congress questioned their actions and words. Journalists accepted what Bush said about the 9/11 attacks at face value, and the American people's representatives in the Congress went along with Bush's program.

The admirable Admiral William J. Fallon, the man who was described by Thomas P.M. Barnett in Esquire magazine back in April 2008 as the "rarest of creatures in the Bush universe: the good cop on Iran, and a man of strategic brilliance," made an interesting remark about Congress's lack of interest in facts at an event called the "Global Communication Leadership Forum: Obama's Afghanistan: The Media and the War" that was held in November, 2009 at the campus of the University of Southern California. Fallon said:
People are fond of saying that they believe in facts, they want data. I was taught a pretty good lesson some years back in Washington. I was in front of a congressional committee, and someone was testifying on an issue, and they trammeled in front of this committee a barrage of information that I absolutely gagged upon hearing, because in my mind it was not only not factual, it was made up nonsense, and wore little resemblance to the vision that I had of this specific issue. So I sat there and allowed my teeth to grind a bit, when it came time to speak I said, "Mr. Chairman, in my business I deal in facts, and I really haven't heard many here," and I got about three more words out of my mouth before the Chairman came across the green table, and just about choked me, and said, "Admiral, you better learn something, buddy. Up here we deal in perceptions, and whatever you think of the facts doesn't matter. (1:10:09 - 1:11:19 in this video).

Rather than runaway generals, the problem that America faces is runaway government. The current government has been taken over by gangsters, traitors, and thieves who don't want the American people to know the facts about 9/11, terrorism, and other issues.

Whether we like it or not, our perceptions of the war on terror, and the threat of terrorism, particularly Islamic terrorism, are perceptions, and not facts. Below I will list some of these perceptions and then list the facts.

1. Perception:
The United States of America was attacked by an international terrorist network called Al-Qaeda led by Osama Bin Laden on September 11, 2001.

Fact:
The threat from Al-Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden is not real. It is made up. Muslim terrorists did not attack America on September 11, 2001. America was attacked by traitors within the Bush administration and National Security establishment, who cooperated with Israel's Mossad in the planning and execution of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Indeed, the real villains behind the 9/11 crime are not dressed in robes, but in suits.

Russian whistleblower Dimitri Khalezov, a former Russian military officer who specialized in nuclear intelligence in the late 1980s, is willing to go on the record to reveal that Mossad intelligence officer Mike Harari is one of the planners behind the 9/11 attacks. Veterans Today's senior editor Gordon Duff wrote on February 19, 2011:
Khalezov is a former Soviet Army officer who worked in the highly secretive world of nuclear detection. The doors he opens threaten our view of the last decades, revealing a secret world of deception too devastating for most to accept. However, as bizarre as his stories may seem, of everyone discussing 9/11, only Dimitri Khalezov has the resume that places him at the forefront.

The rest of us talk about 9/11, profess our theories and connect “dots,” real or imagined, moving the public toward a truth that may well be what the public wishes to believe than what is real.

That has been the trap.

Only Dimitri can testify, not “connect.” When Dimitri tells us that Mossad Operations Chief Mike Harari admitted planning 9/11, it is because Dimitri was there. This is testimony, not conjecture, backed by a willingness to take a lie detector test.

Of course, there are many other criminals who planned 9/11 besides Harari, who are both American and Israeli citizens. Dick Cheney, George W. Bush, and Donald Rumsfeld are on the top of the list.

Col. Robert Bowman, an Air Force combat pilot, a Vietnam veteran, and a former Director of Advanced Space Programs Development for the U.S. Air Force, recently gave a speech in Florida in which he called for a new investigation into the 9/11 attacks, and the arrest of George W. Bush for war crimes and treason. Gordon Duff said this about Bowman's speech:

Bowman talks facts. Some people don’t like facts. Some people don’t like truth. Some people don’t have honor.

Without courage, without facts, without truth and without action, anyone who believes themselves an American patriot is very much the opposite.

2. Perception:
The United States government is in Afghanistan and Iraq to defend America's national security, and its freedoms from terrorists and rogue nations in possession of nuclear weapons.

Fact:
The United States government is in Afghanistan and Iraq for many reasons, but defense is not one of them. The power-tripping policy makers who run around in the highest circles in Washington D.C. are more interested in establishing a foothold in the most strategic area of the world, and extracting resources like oil and heroin than in protecting American soldiers, and the American people. The traitors who run Washington could care less about America's national security. They want to see America fearful and unsafe so that it collapses, and dies, not safe and prosperous and free.

3. Perception:
The American people support the war on terror, and America's occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq.

Fact:
The war on terror is unpopular with the American people, but the absence of a military draft has created such a deep-rooted complacency that the anti-war movement that was active during the run-up to the Iraq war is essentially dead ten years into the war on terror. Political leaders and policy makers in Washington have not overlooked the fact that the wars are unpopular, they have just ignored it and marched on with their poisonous wars. But they have not looked away from this reality totally, either. Homeland Security and the U.S. Military have prepared for civil unrest and mass demonstrations. If government propaganda and media propaganda fails in taming the people and keeping them ignorant, the police and military will take over to repress the people, violently if need be.

4. Perception:
The masked traitors and invisible rulers in Washington are all-powerful, and cannot be defeated. The American people can't do anything to end the war on terror, they just have to suffer and watch as their country is used to kill innocent people in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other nations in the Middle East.

Fact:
No government is all-powerful. And there is no such thing as invisible rulers. The criminals who control public perception in America include Dick Cheney, George Bush, and Barack Obama, who are public faces. There is also no such thing as fate. War is never inevitable, it is always the result of politics and lies. A "long war" as the war on terror is called can be shortened if people in America and the West put pressure on their governments. People make their own destiny. Mubarak thought his rule over Egypt was indestructible, but the people of Egypt proved him wrong and delusional in a mere 18 days. Corrupt rulers can be overthrown by popular revolutions anywhere in the world, and most of all in America because America was founded by revolutionaries. America's foundations were built on freedom and self-government, a fact that the current tyrants in Washington like to forget.

5. Perception:
America is not guilty of state terrorism, and it doesn't sponsor terrorist networks. Only rogue nations like Iran can be considered as terrorist states.

Fact:
America is a shadow terrorist state. It is not a democracy. Its rulers are capable of committing terrorist acts (9/11) and they regularly spread fear and paranoia about the threat of terrorism, which is in fact a form of terrorism. The Military-Industrial Complex's clandestine activities creates conflict and a climate of perpetual fear and insecurity, allowing them to profit, and stay in power. America's shadow state can only exist if America is in a state of war. Peace is kryptonite to this shadow state.

6. Perception:
We will have to fight extremism and global terrorism for the rest of our lives. Peace is impossible. America has many enemies out there, and they will never go away.

Fact:
America's enemies are not in Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, or any other country listed on the neocons' playbook. America's enemies are the crazy radicals who are in power in Washington. America's enemy is a domestic enemy, which is the country's shadow state that operates outside of the law and manipulates the public and the press. It is anti-democratic, lawless, and anti-freedom. The American shadow state's treacherous machinations and lies about terrorism must be exposed to the public. Peace will become a reality once the American war machine is put away, and the war criminals behind 9/11 and the war on terror are hanged for their crimes against humanity.

“Day of Rage” in Iraq: 23 Killed by Government

Obama has not condemned the Nouri al-Maliki regime in Iraq for killing at least 23 people during the country’s “Day of Rage” on Friday. Tens of thousands of Iraqis went into the streets and stormed provincial buildings, forced the resignation of local officials, and confronted the military. Sunnis, Shiites, Kurds and Christians demanded basics taken for granted in other countries – adequate electricity, clean water, a decent hospital, and employment.

“It is noteworthy that the Obama Administration has been entirely mum on the Iraqi crackdown, particularly as the US still has some 50,000 troops in Iraq to back up the Maliki-led regime,” writes Jason Ditz.

Alex Jones: A Heroic Voice

For background read these two articles that attack Alex Jones.

Media Matters - Attention, Media: While You Obsess About Charlie Sheen, Mention That Alex Jones Is A Conspiracist (February 25, 2011)

The New Republic - Truther Consequences (October 7, 2009)

I've defended radio host/documentary filmmaker/patriot Alex Jones against his critics in the past, (here, here, and here), because he has enlightened millions of people around the world about the truth of the 9/11 attacks, the secret conspiracy to destroy America and other free nations in order to establish a dictatorial global government, and other important subjects through his films and daily radio broadcast. Those who say that Alex is nothing but a fearmonger and a conspiracy theorist are either ignorant of the facts, or they are deliberately smearing his character, along with others who hold similar beliefs.

The unavoidable truth is that there is deep corruption in the United States government. Washington D.C. was hijacked. America is ruled by a shadow state that is comprised of connected corporations, large banks, arms manufacturers, and corrupt politicians and government officials. America is not led by statesmen and true leaders, but by crazy state terrorists who are pursuing an agenda of war and domination in the Middle East and Central Asia.

Alex Jones is exposing this political reality. He is not perfect. No human being is perfect. But he is an honorable man who is telling the truth to millions of people, and waking up the sleeping giant in America, and because of that I will defend him as best as I can.

Some people who appreciate Alex's work are not big fans of his delivery and style, which is fine because people have different tastes. But people cross a line when they demonize Alex by calling him crazy, or any other person who fearlessly tells the truth.

It's okay to not like how Alex speaks, how he conducts interviews, and how he delivers information. Not everybody likes Howard Stern, yet he is still the most successful radio host of all time. Give respect where respect is due. Success matters in life, and successful people who have attained success because of their talent and hard work are good. We should not bring down people who are successful in their line of work, whether it is in acting, broadcasting, writing, whatever it may be. Truly successful people know that selling out to attain short-term popularity is not important in the grand scheme of things. Alex Jones understands this fact, unlike Glenn Beck, who is often compared to Alex, mostly because he takes material from Alex's films and broadcasts without giving him any acknowledgment.

Successful individuals like Alex Jones, Howard Stern, etc. recognize that to be successful in life you must buck the trend, set your own course in life, and not give a damn about what other people think about you. Time and God are the only true judges of men. Millions of men and women who are called "conspiracy theorists" today for their beliefs about 9/11, JFK, and other historical events will be called something else tomorrow, something much more favorable.

Alex, who espouses what Bill Moyers and other journalists say is a "left-wing" view about the 9/11 attacks, is usually depicted as a right-wing radio host, or a conservative conspiracy theorist, but none of these characterizations are true. 9/11 truth is not a left or right issue, it is an issue of justice, democracy, and accountability. And Alex, along with millions of others, can't be classified as left or right. Those political labels don't mean anything today. What matters is the public good, and that transcends left and right.

Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and other loudmouth idiots who have made millions of dollars by corrupting their audiences with disinformation, lies, and propaganda for the benefit of the war criminals and thieves in Washington, will be remembered only as pigs and traitors if they continue to misinform the American people and keep them in the dark about how the United States government was hijacked from within. Alex Jones will be remembered as a patriot and hero because he has woken people up to the unspeakable reality of our age.

A year ago, I wrote that Alex combines "passionate truth-telling with mighty eloquence," which is why I personally love his passionate on-air delivery. This is a time to shout, and to release anger. How can a person declare that 9/11 was an inside job with an inside voice? Sometimes, being loud is good. I'm personally very quiet, but I've realized that standing up for yourself, and for justice and truth, can't be done in a quiet way. Alex has tended to manufacture raw emotion as of late, which I dislike, but most of time he express true and raw anger which is very healthy and good. Not being angry at what is going on inside Washington is the unhealthy and unwise reaction.

I will continue to defend Alex's content and his delivery because I believe he is doing good. In fact, I am being timid of my praise for Alex, and the entire Infowars team. Over the last fifteen years Alex has developed his loud voice, built a platform on the radio and used it to inform his fellow human beings about massive corruption and government lying, whereas others have used their multi-million media platforms to spread government propaganda about 9/11, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, the war on terror, and defend war criminals like George Bush, Dick Cheney, and Barack Obama.

Why should we not praise voices like Alex Jones? In the shadows of contemporary culture, Alex Jones have risen to wake the American people out of their slumber, and make them aware that their government has been taken over from the inside by traitors and con-men who hate justice, freedom, and all the values that makes America great. We should never underestimate the power of a single voice to change the lives of millions for the better.

In an era when institutions like the government and media have failed humanity, freedom has to be saved by rare individuals like Alex Jones, Ron Paul, or any other individual that can potentially have the attention of millions of people. It doesn't matter what Barack Obama or any other self-serving politician says if the people don't believe a word they say. Obama, Bush, and recent American presidents don't have true power because they doesn't tell the truth. How can they have power if nobody pay attentions to them, and treats their word as valuable and good? Look at where Bush is at today. He is almost in hiding. Five years ago he was on top of the world, and today he is under a rock. This just shows that all the power that presidents have comes with the position, which is taken away after four and/or eight years. Truly powerful individuals are those who can make lasting changes in their societies, whose words can be counted on, and who become more relevant and popular as times goes on.

Scottish writer and historian Thomas Carlyle said that whoever has the attention of the people is a person who truly holds a powerful position in a society. In his book, 'On Heroes, Hero-Worship, And The Heroic in History,' Carlyle wrote:
"Whoever can speak, speaking now to the whole nation, becomes a power, a branch of government, with inalienable weight in law-making, in all acts of authority. It matters not what rank he has, what revenues or garnitures: the requisite thing is, that he have a tongue which others will listen to; this and nothing more is requisite. The nation is governed by all that has tongue in the nation: Democracy is virtually there." - Thomas Carlyle. On Heroes, Hero-Worship, And The Heroic in History: Pg. 215-216.
Alex Jones has the potential to be one of the heroic voices of our age because he has told the truth for the last 15 years, and speaks daily to millions of listeners. Other broadcasters are also doing heroic work in my mind, such as CNN's Anderson Cooper. His coverage of Egypt, Haiti, Katrina, and the Gulf oil spill was fantastic, and his compassion for humanity is admirable. Other voices who I think have the potential to express great truths and do heroic work include Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, Amy Goodman and the Democracy Now team, Nas, and other musicians/performers.

People in the press, especially television, have yet to realize how powerful they are, and how much good they can do for humanity. Most of the time, television broadcasters devote precious time to discussing useless gossip news, spreading government propaganda, and debating about stupid political talking points that come down to choosing between "republican" vs. "democrat."

For the past sixty years television has been used to keep people dumb and entertained, not informed about the issues of the day that impact their lives and future. Legendary journalist and broadcaster Edward R. Murrow gave one of the most important speeches in the 20th century on October 15, 1958 at a Radio Television Digital News Association convention. Here is an excerpt from the speech:
Our history will be what we make it. And if there are any historians about fifty or a hundred years from now, and there should be preserved the kinescopes for one week of all three networks, they will there find recorded in black and white, or color, evidence of decadence, escapism and insulation from the realities of the world in which we live. I invite your attention to the television schedules of all networks between the hours of 8 and 11 p.m., Eastern Time. Here you will find only fleeting and spasmodic reference to the fact that this nation is in mortal danger. There are, it is true, occasional informative programs presented in that intellectual ghetto on Sunday afternoons. But during the daily peak viewing periods, television in the main insulates us from the realities of the world in which we live. If this state of affairs continues, we may alter an advertising slogan to read: LOOK NOW, PAY LATER.

For surely we shall pay for using this most powerful instrument of communication to insulate the citizenry from the hard and demanding realities which must be faced if we are to survive. I mean the word survive literally. If there were to be a competition in indifference, or perhaps in insulation from reality, then Nero and his fiddle, Chamberlain and his umbrella, could not find a place on an early afternoon sustaining show.
Murrow wasn't joking around when he was talking about survival. Freedom, democracy, justice, the rule of law, and civilization itself are all on the line. 9/11 represents a complete failure of the American media, and the world media. Journalists who are serious about public service should not demean "conspiracy theorists" like Alex Jones, but dig deeper into the topics that Alex and others have covered, and be open and honest. It is difficult to accept that there is a shadow state in America which operates outside of the law and the boundaries of morality, but the truth is the truth. Avoiding reality doesn't change it. Alex Jones has great power because he is using the public airwaves to spread truthful and serious information that has been neglected and degraded by others in the media.

In the 19th century Carlyle pointed to Burke's observation of the existence of a Fourth Estate as an important fact that must be considered by everyone. He wrote:
"Burke said there were Three Estates in Parliament; but, in the Reporters' Gallery yonder, there sat a Fourth Estate more important far than they all. It is not a figure of speech, or a witty saying; it is a literal fact,--very momentous to us in these times." - Thomas Carlyle. On Heroes, Hero-Worship, And The Heroic in History: Pg. 215.
For the past 100-plus years Journalism has been corrupted by elites and governments for the most evil of agendas: war. The press has been used to indoctrinate the people, and control their opinions for the benefit of a small oligarchical elite.

Journalists who have acted heroically and righteously like Gary Webb have been either ignored, or silenced, while their colleagues looked the other way. But, thankfully, we are living in a time when there are more journalists than ever, which means there are more eyes to document more lies told by governments. Ordinary citizens can document events with cell phone video cameras, and twitter, and increase awareness on the spot. Establishment media lackeys and government propagandists no longer have the ability to shape events, and brainwash the public mind. The revolution in journalism is obviously unnerving a lot of professional journalists, but I don't see what they have to be afraid of. Competition is good, it creates an environment that makes it more likely that there will be better products on the market, and that is just as true for the information market.

The reason Alex Jones is so successful is because other radio stations and media organizations are not delivering the goods, they're not delivering what people want, which is the unvarnished truth. People are tired of listening and/or reading lies and misinformation on ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, New York Times, Washington Post, MSNBC, etc. People don't like being deceived, and treated like fools. And people don't like to be called "conspiracy theorists" and "nutjobs" by clueless and arrogant "professional" journalists.

II.

This article/post turned out much longer than I wanted. But it's important to defend a man like Alex Jones who has done tremendous good for America, freedom, and humanity. I don't like it when my heroes are denigrated, and treated like crazy wackos. Alex deserves praise and compliments, as do others who are educating the public and speaking the truth like Amy Goodman, Matt Taibbi, Michael Hastings, Glenn Greenwald, Anderson Cooper, Gordon Duff, David Ray Griffin, Richard Gage, Noam Chomsky, John Pilger, Robert Fisk, Alan Hart, Tom Engelhardt, the list goes on and on. There's too many to mention.

Alex Jones is not a radical, fringe, or anti-government figure. What he says is not crazy, in fact, it is becoming mainstream. The fact that 9/11 was an inside job is almost common knowledge. People who speak about 9/11 truth and who believe that the American government has been hijacked are not wackos. There is a difference between being a revolutionary and being a heretic. I am pro-government. That is, when government is in the hands of the good, and if its power is limited by laws. Those who make war, and who spread paranoia and fear, are for anarchy. The ones who crave chaos, the ones who are truly radical and crazy are men like Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, George H.W. Bush, the neocons, and the corrupt rascals who control the CIA and Pentagon. They turned America upside down, and destroyed the U.S. constitution. They used war, the most radical thing imaginable, as a means to their corrupt ends.

As Alex himself constantly says, what America needs is not a revolution but a restoration. The foundations of America are strong, the strongest of any nation. A country's constitution can always be updated and reworked to fit current circumstances, but the main groundwork for freedom and accountable government in America has already been built by the founding fathers.

In our day the forces of evil and chaos in America have worked to destroy those foundations from the inside. The threat to America and the American people comes not from caves in Afghanistan, or from Iran, but from America's hijacked government. The forces of chaos and corruption and terrorism are busy working in the halls of the White House, the CIA, and the Pentagon. Alex Jones is working every day to raise awareness in America and the world about these anti-democratic and anti-freedom forces, and his work has had a big effect on the minds of millions. In my mind Alex is a hero because he is spreading knowledge, and awakening people to the truths of our time. And we need heroes now more than ever. Again, just because I think Alex is a hero does not mean that he is perfect, and always right. But on balance Alex is doing way more good than bad. There is nothing wrong with praising a man whose intentions are noble and good. We must praise and defend good men, otherwise, what's the point of the pen? Others can praise Barack Obama. I will praise Alex Jones. He is using his voice to preserve freedom, justice, and truth, and reestablish order in America.

What is Obama doing with his voice? Nothing good. What did Bush do with his voice? Nothing good. Obama and Bush, known as President as the "leader of the free world" have used the bully pulpit to spread lies, poison the public mind, destroy America's freedoms and prosperity, and defend criminal wars. They will be viewed as the villains of our era for their protection of a rotten and corrupt political order, along with those who hide behind their faces and words.

I'll end this post with another Carlyle quote:
"May we not say, moreover, while so many of our late Heroes have worked rather as revolutionary men, that nevertheless every Great Man, every genuine man, is by the nature of him a son of Order, not of Disorder?" - Thomas Carlyle. On Heroes, Hero-Worship, And The Heroic in History: Pg. 267.

Robert Burns – 1785

No matter how hard we try, no one can control the future, and we cannot assume the future will be like the present.

Woodrow Wilson signed the law that established the Federal Reserve. He later rightly lamented having done so. He writes, "I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated Governments in the civilized world no longer a Government by free opinion, no longer a Government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a Government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men." Oh, how right he is, and oh, the mischief the FED has wrought! But establishing the FED must have seemed right to Wilson when he signed the law.

Russian Whistleblower Dimitri Khalezov Says U.S. And Russia Are Framing Former Russian Military Officer Viktor Bout

"This is a strange new kind of war where you learn just as much as you are able to believe." - Ernest Hemingway

"The numbers out of the Pentagon are baffling, as if Military Censorship has already been imposed on the media. It is ominous. The only news on TV comes from weeping victims and ignorant speculators.

The lid is on. Loose Lips Sink Ships. Don't say anything that might give aid to The Enemy." - Hunter S. Thompson

"It’s still disorderly, with mysteries forever abounding, but at least get a glimpse of what played out, those very things they don’t want us to ever know, as our history becomes one massive National Security Secret." - George Bailey

The 9/11 cover story is falling apart, but as we get closer to the tenth anniversary of the catastrophic attacks more disinformation and propaganda will be directed against the American people, U.S. government officials, and the global public about the nature of the attacks. As usual, when one public version of a historical event breaks down, the masters of lies who secretly operate the U.S. state terror network get to work on inventing new lies and creating new scapegoats in order to satisfy the public's reawakened imagination as well as to comfort the suspicions of higher-level bureaucrats, government officials, and politicians.

One of the biggest holes in the official 9/11 story is the attack on the Pentagon. The U.S. government's states that a Boeing 757 airplane hit the Pentagon but the facts don't bear this out. The damage on the side of the Pentagon wall showed no signs of wing marks from an airplane. A CNN reporter was on the ground after the attack happened, and this is what he said: "From my close-up inspection there is no evidence of a plane having crashed anywhere near the Pentagon."

So far, the U.S. government has refused to release video footage that captured the attack. If such evidence were to be released in the future, it may answer some questions, or it may raise new questions, depending on how such evidence is leaked to the media, and how it is presented to the public.

According to Dimitri Khalezov, a former Soviet military officer who specialized in nuclear intelligence, the Soviet-built P-700 Granit Missile struck the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. In an interview with researcher and author Daniel Estulin on October 14, 2010, Khalezov said that in order to cover up this crime and save face the U.S. and Russian governments are cooperating together to find a fall guy. The guy's name is Viktor Bout, a former Russian military officer, and an alleged arms trafficker. J. Bruce Campbell writes in Veterans Today that Bout "established an air freight business in war-torn Africa when the other companies shut down their operations due to unpredictable violence in many African countries. Victor stepped in with his fleet of well-used but serviceable cargo haulers and did quite well for some years. When the violence subsided, the competitors got going again and arranged for Victor’s business to be excluded. He finally gave up and returned to Russia."

Bout was arrested in Bangkok, Thailand on March 6, 2008 by Thailand's police for "attempting to procure weapons for Colombia’s FARC rebels." On November 17, 2010, Bout was extradited to the United States to stand trial on terrorism charges, after a two-year battle in the Thai court system.

On the surface Bout seems like what U.S. authorities say he is, a depraved and merciless arms dealer, but, as it is often said, appearances can be deceiving. There's more to the story. Khalezov has tirelessly helped with Bout's legal defense for the past three years, and has the facts to prove that Bout is innocent. He says that Bout has been betrayed by his own government, which has played the good cop in public, but has acted treacherously behind the scenes by undermining Bout's case from the very beginning. It makes sense why the bad cop in this covert relationship, the United States government, wants Bout's head on a platter, but why does the Russian government want to crucify its own soldier? Khalezov has the answer, telling Estulin:
The Americans, understandably, demand from the Russians to find a fall guy or a patsy (or a group of fall guys) who is/are responsible for the missile that was found in the middle of the Pentagon. Considering that the missile was actually nuclear-tipped (with a half-megaton thermo-nuclear warhead that is more than 25 times the size of the Hiroshima bomb) you can imagine that the Americans are quite insistent with their demands to the Russians to find, at last, the culprit and to surrender him to the US Justice.

It is indeed serious. But when it comes to the Russians, they can not admit the truth – that the “Granit” missile with its thermo-nuclear warhead was stolen from the sunken “Kursk” submarine, because Putin back in 2000 solemnly declared to the world that there were no nuclear weapons on board of the sunken submarine.

Khalezov says that a massive propaganda campaign has been directed against Bout. He's been called the "merchant of death" and the 2005 film Lord of War is supposedly based on his life. But these are lies. The demonization of Bout is necessary in order for the public to believe that he is the one who sold the Russian P-700 Granit Missile on the black market to Arab terrorists. The insiders who control the United States government are making a scapegoat out of Bout, just as they did with Osama Bin Laden, Lee Harvey Oswald, and James Earl Ray. It is a familiar pattern. Khalezov's courageous truth-telling is so important because it knocks down the Hollywood myth that has been built around Bout.

Of course, none of these scapegoats are "nice guys." Osama Bin Laden was not a nice guy, but he didn't do 9/11, Oswald was a loony but he didn't kill John F. Kennedy. And Viktor Bout didn't sell any missile to any terrorist group. As Oswald's mother said, "this is a frame up." All of these cases are frame-ups.

And the frame ups will go on until we as citizens stop falling for falsehoods. Facts are facts. And myths are myths. We must cast them apart, and stick with the facts. If we don't, then the public will continue to fall for the scapegoat theory every time, which is why criminal governments always pin crimes on innocent scapegoats, whether the Russian government or the U.S. government.

We must admit that the entire war on terror is bogus. Nothing the U.S. government says is real. In fact, as writer/photographer George Bailey says in his article 'It’s All In The Theater!,' all of modern American history is "one massive National Security Secret." Our job is to expose all of it. We can't leave any stone unturned. We must reclaim history, defend the accused, and put away the rotten criminals and traitors.

Thankfully, there are individuals around who are busy exposing U.S. national security secrets that threaten America, and world peace. Some of those individuals are J. Bruce Campbell of the website Veterans Today, Veterans Today' senior editor Gordon Duff, and author Daniel Estulin. They have helped made Khalezov's explosive revelations about 9/11, the Pentagon, and Viktor Bout more widely known. They deserve credit for their vigilance and reporting. And Khalezov deserves our thanks and appreciation for his courage, honesty and steadfastness.

I recommend that you read the following articles/interviews to get a better understanding about Dimitri Khalezov's statements concerning the 9/11 attacks, the Soviet missile that hit the Pentagon, and Viktor Bout's innocence. II. Establishing Narratives For Public Consumption, And Bureaucratic Consumption

There is another point that I have to highlight. We all know that it is highly unlikely that U.S. government officials will publicly declare that 9/11 was an inside job, and that the entire story about the attacks was a complete fabrication. After ten years of lies, we can't expect the full and honest truth. The myth about Viktor Bout is not as much for public consumption as it is for people within government who have access to sensitive national security information. As Khalezov makes clear in his interview with Estulin, the public is going to be fed the same script, while high-level officials and politicians who dish out billions of dollars and make key public policy decisions will be told by insiders that the Pentagon wasn't hit by a plane but by a Russian missile called the P-700 Granit. Naturally, a series of questions will pop up in the minds of the nervous beaurcrats and politicians. Questions such as 1) How did a Russian missile get into the hands of Muslim terrorists? 2) Who was capable of stealing this missile from the Russians? 3) Do the Russians know about this? At which point the insiders will answer with the lie, "Notorious arms dealer Viktor Bout came in contact with this missile and sold it to the terrorists, and yes, the Russians know about this but they are embarrassed about this whole thing and don't want to admit in public that one of their valued missiles was stolen."

We should remember that the individuals who did 9/11 are very clever and manipulative, with tons of tricks up their sleeves.

III. Excerpts From Daniel Estulin's Interview With Russian Whistleblower Dimitri Khalezov

Dimitri Khalezov is seen here working on Viktor Bout's legal case with Viktor Bout's wife Alla Bout in Thailand.

Khalezov telling Estulin that US officials need two versions of what happened on 9/11 to satisfy the public, and the bureaucracy:
"Add here that the US officials actually exploit two levels of the “truth” in regard to the WTC demolition during 9/11 events. Just imagine that there are quite a lot of mid-ranking security officials and politicians who are advanced enough to know that kerosene can not “melt steel” into fluffy microscopic dust and that “ground zero” in pre-9/11 English language had no other meaning than “a place of a nuclear explosion”. Therefore these types of people would not swallow the plebeian version of the “planes brought down the towers 9/11 truth”. Some “higher” and more plausible version of the “truth” needed to be invented to satisfy them. So according to the intermediate level of the 9/11 “truth” (that is intended to satisfy the mid-ranking security officials and mid-ranking politicians both in America and abroad), the Twin Towers of the WTC, as well as the building #7 of the WTC, were demolished by 3 mini-nukes that allegedly belonged to Osama bin Laden’s operatives. You can find a confirmation of what I mean in the article “Mi Hermano bin Laden”, published in the Spanish daily, El-Mundo, on September 16, 2001. However, once you claim that the WTC was demolished by the three Soviet mini-nukes allegedly bought by Osama from Ukraine, then, being a responsible security official, you should also find Russian or Ukrainian nationals who first stole these mini-nukes for the Soviet nuclear arsenals and who actually sold such awful weapons to the terrorists. Isn’t’ it? Hence another attempt of the Americans – to implicate Victor Bout into trading in mini-nukes and in weapon-grade nuclear materials, in addition to the missiles with half-megaton thermo-nuclear warheads that usually fly around and strike pentagons. It appears that Victor Bout was made a scapegoat just for everything that is nuclear. Add here is where the Americans began their unprecedented persecution against Victor Bout only after 9/11 and in an apparent connection with 9/11. Read the “nuclear” communiqué of John D. Negroponte [3] that was released immediately after Victor’s arrest in Bangkok in March 2008 and that was directly connected to his arrest and moreover, entirely devoted to his arrest. And compare that communiqué by John D. Negroponte with the abovementioned “El Mundo” article about the 3 mini-nukes bought by Osama from Ukraine and allegedly used for destroying the three WTC buildings on 9/11 and surely you will not miss the main point."

Khalezov explains how DEA agent-provocateurs planted fraudulent documents on Viktor Bout's belongings in order to arrest him and charge him with selling missiles to FARC rebels in Colombia:
"The Americans wanted Victor for something else. And for this “something” his apparent Hollywood-inspired image of the “Merchant of Death” was not enough due to this being legally inadmissible in the American court of law. Certain REAL and PROVABLE charges must have been created in order to get him arrested for real. And the American officials found nothing better than to employ the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) for that reason. Since the DEA area of operations are drugs and drug dealers, their modus operandi is corresponding – to plant drugs on a victim and thus, to get the victim arrested. The very same approach was used in Victor Bout’s case: the DEA agent-provocateurs created a certain provocation that looked perhaps “normal” for a typical drug-policeman, but ridiculous to anyone else. The DEA sent their agent to meet Victor Bout. This agent, turned out to be Bout´s former friend, Andrew Smulian, who offered him a deal. But, instead of planting drugs on Victor Bout, the DEA planted bogus documents and falsified “intercepts” of alleged e-mail exchanges and alleged telephone conversations claiming that Victor Bout allegedly: 1) had in his possession portable anti-aircraft missiles; 2) was willing to sell them to FARC rebels in Columbia; 3) in doing so he was planning of- and willing to participate in murdering (sic) the US citizens/US officials working in Columbia."
Khalezov says that without the DEA's dubious involvement, the U.S. government would not have a case against Bout. He also says that U.S. officials are not interested in Bout because he supposedly sold weapons to terrorist groups, but because he is a Russian national and exactly the type of person that can be blamed for the disappearance of the P-700 Granit missile which hit the Pentagon on 9/11:
"Despite the fact that compared to the typical planting of real heroin on their clients the DEA failed to plant any actual anti-aircraft missiles on Victor, this ridiculous case was judged by the DEA superiors to be “solid” enough to be brought to court. And only after THIS provocation of the DEA, the US officials dared, at last, to arrest Victor Bout and to pass this matter to the court of law. Before that, they have simply nothing in their hands that would be admissible in the court-room. Therefore we can not even talk about alleged former “criminal activities” of Victor Bout in Africa or elsewhere in connection with his current case in the court. The current case is purely about his alleged attempt to sell the alleged “portable anti-aircraft missiles” to FARC in Columbia and nothing else besides that.

This is the official “open” part of the story. However, there is also an official but “secret” part of the same story. Victor Bout is not really wanted in America for these absurd and non-existent portable anti-aircraft missiles. This ridiculous frame-up could never be successfully won by the US government in the US court. Victor, in reality, is wanted for something far more serious that can not be made public and can not be discussed in the courtroom in any open proceedings."
.
.
.
"Because they knew that the entire story was invented and no missiles would be found anywhere. That is why they did not even attempt to go after the missiles. The real cause of the extradition attempt against Victor Bout is not these non-existent portable anti-aircraft missiles. The real cause is that the US Government in collaboration with the Russian Government secretly blamed an individual named “Victor Bout” for selling to the terrorists a Soviet-made “Granit” missile that struck the Pentagon on 9/11. And THIS is the real truth behind Victor’s case. And THIS secret part of the case the American legal experts plan to win in the US court behind closed doors. Because it appears that the Russian FSB has secretly concocted some “plausible” evidence that implicates Victor Bout in that alleged deal and the US officials appear to be gullible enough to believe the Russian colleagues and to believe that such “evidence” would lead to the successful conclusion of the still pending 9/11 Pentagon case. In addition, Victor is being secretly accused of selling portable nuclear weapons – known as “mini-nukes” or “suite-case nukes” to various terrorist organizations, ranging from the Colombian FARC to Osama bin Laden´s Al-Qaeda."
Khalezov says don't believe the hype. Every man deserves his day in court. Using the media to smear a person does not make that person guilty. Evidence matters. Khalezov:
"Victor Bout can´t be turned into “an illegal weapons trader” by the hysterical Western media. Only the court verdict could do this. But not once during all these years has Victor Bout receive a summons to any court of law whereby someone sued him for being an illegal weapons dealer. There was not even a single attempt by any government, or by any public prosecutor, or by UN, or by any other organization, or by even a private individual to sue Victor Bout for his being an alleged “Merchant of Death”.

Why not, you ask? The answer is very simple: because no solid evidence exists that could be admissible in a court of law. The image of Victor Bout being an alleged “Merchant of Death” is based exclusively on the Hollywood movie, on Douglas Farah’s book, and on the bogus “UN report” concocted by a certain unscrupulous inspector, Johan Peleman. A number of Mr. Peleman´s former associates are willing to come forward and testify in the court of law that in every UN report, Victor Bout´s name was added to the final version of the report and that his name was absent in every preliminary UN report on arms trafficking. You simply can’t sue Victor Bout for being an illegal weapon trader based on the evidence compiled by the shameless Johan Peleman or bring to court the movie “Lord of War” as a substitute for the evidence. That is exactly why the Americans do not want Victor Bout for any illegal weapons trade as appears to many people around the world. If they really wanted him for that they would have done it long time ago. The evidence is simply not there."

I hope you read the entire interview. This is important material. It is groundbreaking information. Khalezov is risking his life by telling us what he knows. He was offered a lot of money to shut up, and to undermine Bout's case in court, but he chose the honorable and righteous path. He chose to defend his innocent friend. Share his story. Spread Khalezov's interview with Estulin across the internet. We must do all we can to shatter the lies and the myths that have been created by the monsters who hijacked the U.S. government, orchestrated the 9/11 attacks, and criminally slaughtered hundreds of thousands of people in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Analysis of the Global Insurrection Against Neo-Liberal Economic Domination and the Coming American Rebellion – We Are Egypt

Analysis of the Global Insurrection Against Neo-Liberal Economic Domination and the Coming American Rebellion – We Are Egypt
By David DeGraw
AmpedStatus Report
Published: February 20, 2011

If you think what’s happening in Egypt won’t happen within the United States, you’ve been watching too much TV. The statistics speak for themselves.

In previous Revolution Roundups, before we were knocked offline, we featured mass protests by the people of Ireland, Italy, Britain, Austria, Greece, France and Portugal, as the Global Insurrection contagion spread throughout Europe. And now, as we have seen over the past month, North African and Middle Eastern nations have joined the movement as the people of Egypt, Tunisia, Jordan, Morocco, Gabon, Mauritania, Yemen, Bahrain, Libya, Palestine, Iraq, Sudan and Algeria have taken to the streets en masse.

The connection between this latest round of uprisings and the prior protests throughout Europe is one the mainstream media is not making. We are witnessing a decentralized global rebellion against Neo-Liberal economic imperialism. While each national uprising has its own internal characteristics, each one, at its core, is about the rising costs of living and lack of financial opportunity and security. Throughout the world the situation is the same: increasing levels of unemployment and poverty, as price inflation on food and basic necessities is soaring.

Whether national populations realize it or not, these uprisings are against systemic global economic policies that are strategically designed to exploit the working class, reduce living standards, increase personal debt and create severe inequalities of wealth. These global uprising, which have only just begun, are the first wave of the inevitable reaction to the implementation of a centralized worldwide Neo-Feudal economic order.

The global banking cartel, centered at the IMF, World Bank and Federal Reserve, have paid off politicians and dictators the world over — from Washington to Greece to Egypt. In country after country, they have looted national economies at the expense of local populations, consolidating wealth in unprecedented fashion – the top economic one-tenth of one percent is currently holding over $40 trillion in investible wealth, not counting an equally significant amount of wealth hidden in offshore accounts.

IMF imperial operations designed to extract wealth and suppress populations have been ongoing for decades. As anyone researching economic imperialism will know, a centrally planned Neo-Liberal aristocracy controls the global economy.

Government Infiltrates Terror Cells Time and Again ... But Fails to Stop Attacks
By Washington's Blog

It's amazing how governments infiltrate terror cells time and again, but then fail to actually stop the attacks.

London

The Guardian noted on February 13th:

A remark from the sentencing judge that Babar "began co-operating even before his arrest", has raised the possibility, supported by other circumstantial evidence obtained by the Guardian, that he may have been an informant for the US government before his detention by the FBI in April 2004.

***

Having reviewed the court transcript himself, bereaved father Graham Foulkes said: "There's a hint from one or two of the sentences [in the transcript] that do strongly suggest [Babar's] co-operation was going well beyond his official arrest. And it looks as if the Americans may well have known in detail what Babar was up to in Pakistan [at the time] and that is a very, very serious matter."

When judge Marrero's office was asked to clarify the remarks, his office declined to comment. The US attorney's office declined to comment on whether Babar had been working with US agencies before his arrest.

The law enforcement officer involved in Babar's arrest and debriefing also refused to discuss the allegations.

Indeed, this short Fox news interview with terrorism expert and former prosecutor for the Justice Department shows that the bombing "mastermind" was a British intelligence agent (or read the transcript here). And see confirming story here.

An MSNBC translator confirms that claim of responsibility by Al-Qaeda was a fake. And see this this regarding the unreliability of the translation.

This article from the Independent raises the question of whether attackers were "arrested and then released" while remaining under close observation by the government".

Times Online reports that the police were "bugging" the car of the mastermind of the bombings.

And apparently Israel was warned ahead of the blasts (confirmed here).

“Is everything a conspiracy? No. Only the important stuff.”
Jeff Wells, Rigorous Intuition

People often lose sight of the irony of Lee Harvey Oswald, a man arrested in a theater, in essence spent his time on earth playing a form of real theater--Cold War Theater. Inspired by the TV show, I Led Three Lives, Oswald now plays it out in real life. He plays such roles as the malcontent, the loser, the loner, the friend, the Marine, the Marxist, the jerk, the family man, the Cold War spy, and finally the assassin, all rolled up in one. And very few of these roles are real. In this light we see the maze of a contradictory life coming together in one almost cohesive whole. It’s still disorderly, with mysteries forever abounding, but at least get a glimpse of what played out, those very things they don’t want us to ever know, as our history becomes one massive National Security Secret.

War, Martial Law, and the Economic Crisis

The U.S. Treasury’s Financial Bailout

The bailout measures of late 2008 may have consequences at least as grave for an open society as the response to 9/11 in 2001. Many members of Congress felt coerced at the time into voting against their inclinations, and the normal procedures for orderly consideration of a bill were dispensed with.

The excuse for bypassing normal legislative procedures was the existence of an emergency. But one of the most reprehensible features of the legislation, that allowed Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson to permit bailed-out institutions to use public money for exorbitant salaries and bonuses, was inserted by Paulson after the immediate crisis had passed.

According to Congressman Peter Welch (D-Vermont) the bailout bill originally called for a cap on executive salaries, but Paulson changed the requirement at the last minute. Welch and other members of Congress were enraged by "news that banks getting taxpayer-funded bailouts are still paying exorbitant salaries, bonuses, and other benefits."[1] In addition, as the Associated Press reported in October 2008, "Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y. questioned allowing banks that accept bailout bucks to continue paying dividends on their common stock. ‘There are far better uses of taxpayer dollars than continuing dividend payments to shareholders,’ he said."[2]

Even more reprehensible is the fact that after the bailouts, Paulson and the Treasury Department refused to provide details of the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) spending of hundreds of billions of dollars, while the New York Federal Reserve refused to provide information about its own bailout (using government-backed loans) that amounted to trillions. This lack of transparency was challenged by Fox TV in a FOIA suit against the Treasury Department, and a suit by Bloomberg News against the Fed.[3]

The financial bailout legislation of September 2008 was only passed after members of both Congressional houses were warned that failure to act would threaten civil unrest and the imposition of martial law.

U.S. Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., and U.S. Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Calif., both said U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson brought up a worst-case scenario as he pushed for the Wall Street bailout in September. Paulson, former Goldman Sachs CEO, said that might even require a declaration of martial law, the two noted.[4]

Here are the original remarks by Senator Inhofe:

Speaking on Tulsa Oklahoma’s 1170 KFAQ, when asked who was behind threats of martial law and civil unrest if the bailout bill failed, Senator James Inhofe named Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson as the source. "Somebody in D.C. was feeding you guys quite a story prior to the bailout, a story that if we didn’t do this we were going to see something on the scale of the depression, there were people talking about martial law being instituted, civil unrest... who was feeding you guys this stuff?," asked host Pat Campbell. "That’s Henry Paulson," responded Inhofe. "We had a conference call early on, it was on a Friday I think – a week and half before the vote on Oct. 1. So it would have been the middle... what was it – the 19th of September, we had a conference call. In this conference call – and I guess there’s no reason for me not to repeat what he said, but he said – he painted this picture you just described. He said, ‘This is serious. This is the most serious thing that we faced.’"[5]

Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA 27th District) reported the same threat on the Congressional floor:

The only way they can pass this bill is by creating a panic atmosphere... Many of us were told that the sky would fall... A few of us were even told that there would be martial law in America if we voted no. That’s what I call fear-mongering, unjustified, proven wrong.[6]

So it is clear that threats of martial law were used to get this reprehensible bailout legislation passed. It also seems clear that Congress was told of a threat of martial law, not itself threatened. It is still entirely appropriate to link such talk to the Army’s rapid moves at the time to redefine its role as one of controlling the American people, not just protecting them. In a constitutional polity based on balance of powers, we have seen the emergence of a radical new military power that is as yet completely unbalanced.

The United States Government Kills Its Own People, Too

People are reacting with horror to reports that the Libyan government is killing its own people. On-the-ground eyewitnesses are describing the government violence as massacres. Many people believe the international community should get involved to help resolve the crisis in Libya, and reduce the bloodletting.
This is not just about Libya. The broader region is both coming alive and coming apart. Across the Arab world, governments are using disturbing levels of violence against peaceful protesters, and as long as their survival is at stake, they will continue to do so. Before the region descends into protracted civil conflict or worse, the international community has the opportunity, in Libya, to set an important precedent and save thousands of lives in the process.

Aggressive international action is risky. But taking comfort in toothless denunciations of Qaddafi is riskier still. It is also a recipe for prolonged conflict. In the absence of alternatives, a responsibility to protect sometimes necessitates a responsibility to intervene. And, with the Libyan regime declaring, with unmistakable clarity, its intent to kill, the time for intervention is now.

On Wednesday, February 23, President Barack Obama condemned the violent crackdown by the Libyan government on anti-government protesters. "The suffering and bloodshed is outrageous and it is unacceptable. So are threats and orders to shoot peaceful protesters," said Obama, and added, "It is imperative that the nations and peoples of the world speak with one voice." After days of silence, calls for peace coming from the President of the United States seems long overdue, but what does Obama mean when he says that nations must "speak with one voice."

The same type of rhetoric is being used against the Iranian regime. If international sanctions don't work against Iran, and if other tricks like inducing the Green movement to pick up where it left off in the summer of 2009 don't have the desired effect, then will President Obama "speak with one voice" as he moves down the list of options and calls for a war against Iran?

President Obama's Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, threatened Iran in 2008 that if it attacked Israel in any manner the response from the United States would include the use of nuclear weapons. Was she speaking with "one voice" when she recklessly spread fear and paranoia on television about the intentions of the Iranian regime towards Israel? Former CIA analyst Ray McGovern, who silently protested Clinton at George Washington University recently, says that Clinton is able to voice violent threats and promote full-scale wars in front of American audiences because she doesn't know the brutal reality of modern warfare. She doesn't have first-hand contact with war. She might as well be a robot. McGovern writes:
Hillary Clinton -- both as a U.S. senator and as Secretary of State -- has demonstrated a nonchalant readiness to unleash the vast destructiveness of American military power. The charitable explanation, I suppose, is that she knows nothing of war from direct personal experience.
Who is Clinton speaking for when she threatens Iran with war? She is obviously not speaking for "the nations and peoples of the world," because the nations and peoples of the world do not want another world war.

It is dangerous when leaders of states speak metaphorically and religiously about "one voice" and "one world", especially when they support criminal wars, the use of nuclear weapons, and torture like President Obama. I see no problem with humanitarian intervention in conflicts, but who has the right to intervene? Who has the right to speak for human rights? The United Nations? The United States? The European Union? They all have blood on their hands because of their support for and/or silence over the slaughters that are taking place daily in Afghanistan, and Iraq. The U.S., UN, and EU have very little credibility, so for them to intervene in Libya or any other place for humanitarian reasons is unacceptable.

The United States is not a moral agent in the world. And neither is the United Nations or the European Union. They may not be as barbaric and ruthless as Libya's Gadhafi and other dictators in the region, but they have no right to place themselves on a higher plane and tell other governments how to treat their citizens. Sadly, we have zero institutions in the world that has both the moral integrity and the force needed to intervene in conflicts around the world. The crisis in Libya has to be resolved by the people inside Libya.

Let's not forget the fact that the hijacked United States government kills its own people, too, and in broad daylight. For those that need to be convinced of this fact, look no further than Waco, and 9/11. It is not an exaggeration to say that the USG is worse than the dictatorial and vicious regimes in Iran and Libya. As Martin Luther King Jr. noted, the United States government is the greatest purveyor of violence on the planet.

Professor and Korean War veteran John Kozy writes that America's "political economy, not the mythical America, is really what defines America and is what the War on Terror is meant to protect." Kozy says that making real political change in America is much harder than electing a candidate who repeats the word "change" as a campaign slogan. True change must take place in the political economy of the United States, and the world. Kozy says:
If the American people ever hope to really be free, they need to understand America's political economy so the parts of it that are morally offensive and economically ineffective can be identified. Only then will Americans be able to make the changes that are needed to make their country truly theirs and make Lincoln's dream of a nation of the people, by the people , and for the people a reality.
Changing America's political economy for the better is the most difficult task that the American people have ever faced in their 200-plus year history.

Facing the facts boldly is the first obstacle towards reforming and renewing America. The truth is that Washington D.C. has long been taken over by a ruling elite that is willing to murder innocent Americans to implement their agenda of war and domination, and increase their blood-made profits. George Bush's grandfather Prescott Bush failed to overthrow FDR and put Wall Street in charge, but he and his father succeeded. The Bush family's crimes against the American people and America are too long to mention here. In a just and informed America, George W. Bush and his father would be hanged alongside other war criminals.

The fact that America is ruled by power-crazed tricksters and thugs disqualifies the American government from making moral and democratic declarations about the political turmoil in the Middle East. An unjust America can't claim moral superiority over Libya, Iran, Saddam, or the Taliban. Very few governments can lay claim to moral authority in the world today, least of all the United States government. And the United Nations is not much different. We learned last month that the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon does not support a new 9/11 investigation, which means he is not really interested in stopping the needless bloodshed in the war on terror. The United Nations is siding with the guys who have the biggest guns in the room, not the guys with moral authority like Richard Falk, David Ray Griffin, Richard Gage, and millions of others around the world who support a new 9/11 investigation.

Unless there is a new 9/11 investigation that identifies the real murderers behind the 9/11 attacks, followed by new Nuremberg trials, governments in Iran and Libya can say to their captured populations "Look at those murderous hypocrites in the West, do you want to side with them and fight against leaders of your own land, and against your own people?" Of course, this is a half-truth because these governments do not care for the people, but it rings true in the minds of many who rightly see the United States government for what it is: the Great Satan. That is why this half-truth is told often by the dictatorial leaders of Iran and other countries that have risen up against US-Western imperialism. Western governments have zero moral authority.

Until we get our own houses in order, until we stop our Western governments from killing and torturing people in the war on terror, until justice is honored and truth is told in our lands, we have no right to speak on the violence and brutality that is being committed by anti-Western regimes and dictators.
